Our Journey
1990
Brian Burke has worked in the flooring industry since 1990 when he purchased Biddle Floorsanding in Kaitaia and sanded and polished wood flooring.
1992
He started the company Kaitaia Flooring which was a carpet, vinyl, and floor sanding retail business. Later, he purchased a Carpet Court and entered into a full franchise 650m2 Flooring Retail Business which operated for a further 18 years.
2000
As Burke’s reputation as a friendly and professional installer continued to grow, he once again became more involved with site measures and quotes, more immersed in the supply of products and increasingly interested in the technological and logistical side of the flooring world.
2010
He eventually decided to sell and move further south to Whangarei. He noted that there was a huge shortage of flooring installers and wanted the opportunity to train others and so created a small installation company called Northland Floor Layers.
2017
Finally, in March 2017, Burke re-branded his business and branched out, turning Northland Floor Layers into MeasureUp Flooring Ltd. A one-stop-shop for all your flooring needs, Brian now managers twenty eight plus staff members, a sales team, installers and contractors – he has got you fully covered when it comes to flooring.
Present
MeasureUp now has over 28 staff, including a dedicated sales team, installers, and contractors — giving you complete coverage for all your flooring needs.
